Meet Lisa & Eddie, beautiful and joyous souls. Their fun, laughter, and love for each other is contagious and wonderful to be in the presence of. Thank you for allowing me to capture such a joyous day for the both of you that had me laughing, smiling, and most likely looking a fool behind my camera! Yes, even though I act tough and play hard, I really am just a softy at heart who gets tears to her eyes in such wonderful moments and events. Oh slide shows- will I ever master dry eyes?
Interesting note about Lisa- she is from the same town I went to high school in. When she had originally inquired I thought to myself, “Mattison… Why is that name so familiar? Don’t I know some Mattison’s?” I had pondered it briefly and filed it away as an odd side note to be explored later. Turns out, I forgot completely, and during their engagement session and asking them where they were from- lo and behold – we had the same teachers and they are still there haha :D Sorry Eddie for getting side tracked on reminiscing of Northern Wisconsin and all the oddities there in- you were such a great sport!
Really- I want to photograph your day all over again- it was such a joy. Thanks again for letting me be a part of your special day!
Future brides to be, no matter what anyone tells you, they can’t start without you. But there is beauty in moving quickly. :)
For Lisa and Eddie, this wedding was for more than just the joining to each other, it was the joining of their families. Eddie’s two little boys and Lisa’s little girl helped fill the vases of sand. What a great way to have your children involved in your ceremony.
Lisa, I am sure this is one of those looks of Eddie’s that gets you every time, boyish enthusiasm and mischievousness all in one.
All the best in love and life,
♥ Jess ♥
Anna and Patrick- what a true blast to photograph. Fun, carefree, and so vibrant in personality. I truly can not wait to photograph your wedding in May next year- on my birthday no less! :) We started down by the river where as I pull out my camera – all set to go, “alright lets get started.” There goes Anna, bounding across the sand to jump/hug Patrick, haha. I know already that this session will only need soft guidance, quickly sizing up compositions and moving in to position on my part! It was truly a treat to photograph you both and here is looking forward to May!
These photos were taken on a rather hazy, overcast day in October out at Afton Alps State Park. I love it out there and frequently drive there just to enjoy a hike in the woods. It is close enough to the cities for an easy half day jaunt but still far enough to allow me the illusion that I might be near my original home of northern Wisconsin. Also a great place to do a mini backpacking trip- if anyone is interested? ;)
Chavion- I love your name and your awesome personality, not to mention those hot red shoes! I know seniorities is in full swing but I know you have what it takes to muscle through and do great this year. I smiled as I edited your photos and how much the camera loves you. Thanks for taking photos in the long grasses even though you thought it was weird. They turned out lovely.
I wish you luck and good fortune in your final year- keep me up to date! :)
Chris + Jen – you both are so vibrant in life and love. It was a joy to photograph you both and I truly smiled the whole time I was editing your engagement photos. I can’t wait for your wedding on October 23rd this year.
For Chris + Jen’s engagement session we went to the Mill City Museum along with the Stone Arch Bridge- they rented one of the Nice Ride bikes that you can find all over areas of Minneapolis. They are both very active individuals and obviously enjoy biking. I loved the extra little prop and it made for some fun and cute photos. Can not give them enough hearts for thinking of it!
The day was gorgeous and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to enjoy it. Thank you Chris + Jen for being so wonderful!
PS- I love your fiery curly locks Jen. :)
Sam- you have grown so much over the years since I first photographed you in the spring of 2008, early in your modeling career. Though so many things in your life and your future have changed, you have not. I love that about you. I love that your personality is so strong and vibrant that you always stay true to yourself. I wish you the best in your final year of high school and to always enjoy the company of your closest friends; may they remain close with you as you go to college in the coming years.
You have grown to be a beautiful and charming woman and I look forward to seeing where life takes you!
